The Education Program
The Education Program is integral to all of our research activities. Our work is about building the knowledge base of remote Australia through education, training and capacity change.
Outputs
- A cohort of students from CRC-REP partner tertiary institutions across Australia, who are excellent researchers with the skills, knowledge and experience that can assist in providing solutions for remote Australia
- Skilled researchers who are desirable employees for remote Australian organisations
Between 2011 and 2014 we will:
- train at least 24 postgraduate students (PhD, MSc and Honours)
- provide specific Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support to at least five postgraduate students
- host at least 10 undergraduate, vocational and vocation placements
- ensure that at least 70 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander field researchers are trained and paid through our research lifetime
- facilitate the creation of new businesses by building the skills of potential entrepreneurs through the RemoteBiz™ platform in partnership with successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs
